Background

I graduated from high school in 1981. In 1983 I earned an associate degree in computer programming from Davis College in Toledo, OH. In 1984 I began work with a honey processing plant in Springville, MI where I would support and modify their accounting software. Soon after, we started a retail software company to sell this same software, which was Open Systems® Accounting Software written using Business Basic. I was in charge of modifications and tech support to the customers. In 1986 I took over as owner of the software company and renamed it Computer Concepts. I continued building the business until 1988 when I began concentrating on my expanding farming enterprises. I transferred most of my existing customers to other dealers and kept servicing only a handful of them for the next few years.

In 2000 I began teaching myself how to program Microsoft Access through Visual Basic for Applications. I have been doing almost all of my work in this environment. I recently have been studying SQL to further expand my qualifications for database work, and have done some work with an .html front end using Visual Basic. I am currently looking at continuting to gain knowledge in Visual Basic and in supporting Oracle databases.

I have helped many different kinds of businesses of small to medium-large sizes. Different fields I have worked in are manufacturing, food processing, utility, religious administration, professional, etc. Many situations were accounting related mainly in the areas of accounts receivable and payable, payroll, inventory, and general ledger. I have also worked in specialized areas of materials management, food processing, and several specialized manufacturing systems. There was even a project that involved modifiying a program used in medical research at a large nearby regional hospital.

I have for sale an event scheduler for the Fine Arts Festival which was originally written for the Michigan District of the Assemblies of God church.

Another project that I completed was a water delivery route program that will be great for small to medium size bottled water and water softener companies. It was a custom program for a local company, but I have now completed a commercial version for sale.
